One of the last Latin Vibes! Next week you'll get 2 instead of OOTW!
Šuma are featured again this week. This song "Dy Hula Pcholka" is one of the lead singer Rusia's favourites. It is the story of a widow who has to take care of her life on her own (which was hard in old times). She is comparing herself to a hardworking bee. But whereas the bee life is nice and honey is sweet, for the widow it is all the opposite. Firewood is wet and food is not nice. She sings: and my food is bitter from now on because you are not with me anymore, my love.
Latin Vibes was the program I made before Out Of This World! Check it out especially if you like Latin music!
One more week of new World music featuring Šuma, this week playing Na Mory Vutka Kupalasia. This is the story of a girl who is locked up in the cellar by her mother. Mother doesn't want her to go out but the girl is watching a dancing parade which is lead by her beloved man. They can not meet. I really like this band. I hope you do too.
Last of Out Of This World.... Next week we move on to Latin Vibes!
Another episode featuring Šuma from Belarus; The song Husanki is a song from a wedding ceremony and it was sung when the bride was about to be taken away from her mother's house. "letely husanki" means " two ducks were flying" and these ducks tell the girl to gather presents because very soon she is going to be a wife. The girl says how much her father was taking care of her but she is asking for more from her brothers and sisters. That was a tradition to give the bride lots of things and presents to help support her future family. The girl is gently inviting her rich relatives to join the tradition. Hope you like it!
